About CIA-2012

Compulsions

The second decade of 21st century is characterized by the growing challenges in the cyber domain as our institutions (economic, political, military, legal, social) become increasingly global and inter-connected; as we rely more and more on automated control (SCADA) systems to provide our needs for energy, food and services, and as we rely on Internet-based communication channels for coordinating ever growing global interaction. These challenges arise from various sources and motivations. Both natural (earthquakes, cyclones, tsunami) and manmade risks from sophisticated hackers, spies, terrorists, and criminal organizations cover the threat spectrum.

Objectives

Creative solutions and managerial strategies to identify these threats, analyse them, defend against them, and also to recover, repair, and control the damage caused by them is a critical management responsibility. Leaders both in government and industry must actively support the ongoing battle against these threats using technologies, policies, legal strategies, training etc.

Target Audience

This conference driven by above compulsions and objectives is scheduled to provide an opportunity of sharing the research findings and learning from successful implementation and the current experiments in the Information Security domain. Participants are expected from every part of the world including: Faculty/ Scientists, University students, Private sector executive (solution providers), Government officers, policy makers and NGO/ community volunteers.

Design of the Conference

A Steering Committee (SC) comprising of international experts and representatives from government and industry would guide the activities of a Program Committee (PC) in deciding the moderators, speakers, and agenda items for conferences. A Technical Committee (TC) will manage the tracks and reviewing process. An Organizing Committee (OC) with appropriate additional subcommittees would take care of operational activities on day-to-day basis.
